I’m Adam,
This summer, I’m cycling 7,000km through Europe, north to south. I’m documenting the adventure with a camera on Instagram and words below.
Day 27: Hipstedt to Oldenburg | 80km
A misty, hot morning escape from a creepy campsite led to an 80km ride through cornfields and villages, a tumble, and a joyful reunion with an old friend in lively Oldenburg.
Day 26: Fockbek to Hipstedt (sort of) | 130km
A grueling 130km ride through scorching heat, scenic canals, and cornfields, ending with a cold sink shower and noisy ducks at an eerily quiet campsite.
Day 25: Haderslev to Fockbek | 120km
Saying goodbye to a wonderful few days in Denmark, entering Germany, and enjoying the shifting scenery.
Day 23: Øster Hurup to Silkborg | 110km
Falling in love with Danish landscapes, reunion with an old friend, and blue skies.
Day 22: Göteborg - Fredrikshavn - Øster Hurup | 85km
Midsummer morning, a near-miss ferry, and the quiet joy of rediscovering the road with company.
Day 21: Lidköping to Göteborg | 138km
The final stretch of Sweden, trying to outrun nature, and the strange feeling of returning home.
Day 20: Åtorp to Lidköping | 115km
A morning by the lake and the feeling of endless summer.
Day 18: Falun to Kopparberg | 120km
Forests with no end in sight, questions, and the negotiation between comfort and adventure.
Day 17: Arbrå to Falun | 145km
Two long days in a row and my body is holding up. It’s my mind that’s being tested on the empty roads.
Day 16: Sundsvall to Arbrå | 147km
After 147km of steady pedaling, the perfect campsite can feel like nature’s way of saying, “This one’s on me.”
Day 15: Sundsvall | 0km
First day off the bike since starting the journey, roaming around Sundsvall, and thoughts on loneliness on the road.
Day 14: Härnösand to Sundsvall | 60km
Riding through thunderstorms, rain and bumping into yet another biker who made it perfectly clear he’s not actually a cyclist.
Day 13: Örnsköldsvik to Härnösand | 117km
New perspectives on family, my personal feud with gravel hills slowly shifting, and crossing the longest hanging bridge in Sweden.
Day 12: Hörnefors - Nordmaling - Örnsköldsvik | 96km
96 kilometers of sunshine, gravel hills and mind games, plus a surprise reunion with family I never met before.
Day 11: Bygdsiljum - Umeå - Hörnefors | 140km
Day 11 of this trip turned out to be one of the most enjoyable so far. From vibrant university streets to quiet riverside camping, it was a day of many small joys.
Day 10: Byske -Skellefteå - Bygdsiljum | 102km
A day of pedaling through misty lakes, chatting with strangers on a wooden bridge, and indulging in a much-needed buffet feast.
Day 9: Luleå to Byske | 112km
This part of the trip took me from the comfort of Luleå’s hotels to the wild, where a meeting with another cyclist and a muddy swim made me think about what it really means to embrace the unknown.
Day 8: Töre to Luleå | 75km
Waking up to an empty campsite, I realized I’d slept through the departures of every other traveler, which was perhaps a testament to the deep rest my body needed. The ride to Luleå was supposed to be short, but the road had other plans.
